Welcome to the MACE® Level I Civilian Aerosol Defensive Spray Training. MACE® has partnered with U.S. LawShield to create this premiere training course. The goal of this class is to help you become a safe, knowledgeable user of personal protective sprays. You will learn about the purchase, possession, and proper usage of aerosol personal defensive
sprays.
During this class, you will learn:
  • What chemical irritants are in personal protective sprays
  • The science behind how these chemical irritants work on an attacker
  • The concept of situational awareness to help you with personal safety, how conflicts can escalate, and you will learn de-escalation techniques to downshift the conflict when possible
  • The types of personal protective sprays, including how to choose the right product for your personal safety needs, best practices for the care and handling of personal protective sprays

Course Description
This comprehensive eLearning bundle of 12 different courses brings together the essential core knowledge every responsible gun owner should have – combining foundational safety, proper handling techniques, and critical legal understanding in one structured learning path. Through a series of focused courses, students will learn how handguns function, how to safely load, unload, store, and carry them, and how to select equipment such as holsters that support both safety and lawful use. The bundle also provides clear guidance on navigating the legal landscape of firearms ownership, including purchasing and selling firearms, transporting them across jurisdictions, recognizing prohibited locations, and interacting with law enforcement while armed.

Course Description
This course prepares gun owners for safe and lawful interactions with law enforcement while carrying a firearm. Students will learn when and how to disclose firearm possession, what information officers may request, and how to exercise their rights respectfully. Legal discussion includes “duty to inform” laws and best practices for compliance during traffic stops or investigative encounters. The course emphasizes calm communication, awareness of one’s rights, and lawful decision-making to help every encounter be safe and professional.
TransportCourse Description
Participants will learn the legal requirements for transporting firearms in vehicles, aircraft, and across state lines. The course explains unloaded transport standards, locked container requirements, and how to comply with the Firearm Owners Protection Act (18 U.S.C. § 926A). Real-world examples help clarify how to remain lawful during roadside stops, hotel stays, and travel through restrictive jurisdictions. Students will finish with clear guidance on how to move firearms safely, securely, and in compliance with all relevant laws.
Prohibited AreasCourse Description
This course details where firearms may not lawfully be carried under federal and state law. Topics include federal facilities airport secure areas, national parks, locations covered by the Gun-Free School Zones Act, and more. Participants will learn how to identify these areas and avoid legal pitfalls that result from ignorance of the law.

Buying Selling FirearmsCourse Description
This course explains the legal and practical steps involved in purchasing or selling a firearm.
